Since 1982, Scott has worked across the horse industry. For 25+ years he managed Butte Creek Scout Ranch (BSA), a working ranch offering western trail rides and extended pack trips for Scouts and families.
He believes in experiential learning—horses build character—and that good horsemanship leads to good “humanmanship.” Scott is a CHA-certified clinician (Western, English, Pack & Trail, EFM), CHA site certifier, and a Certified Equine Specialist (EAGALA).
Since the early 2000s he’s served on equine-assisted psychotherapy teams, helping troubled youth and recovering adults.

"The horsemanship skills that I learned from him have fulfilled me in ways that go beyond horsemanship."
Scott DePaolo has been my coach, mentor, and friend for over 15 years. The horsemanship skills that I learned from him have fulfilled me in ways that go beyond horsemanship. I just want to say thank you to Scott for having the same patience and perseverance with me as he did with his horses.

"I would have never imagined I would be as advanced with horses, cows and people as I am in just a few years."
Scott genuinely cares about your progression. I never imagined I would be as advanced with horses, cows and people as I am in just a few years. Scott really put me ahead of the learning curve.

"When I'm around Scott, I want to watch him, with a keen eye, listen and learn, from a great individual and horseman..."
Scott is a soft spoken man. When he speaks, when he's working a horse, his passion, knowledge and talent shines... he's a giver, he shares, he cares. When I'm around Scott, I want to watch him, with a keen eye, listen and learn, from a great individual and horseman .
